Hello....
I am Nellie Harari,
licensed Clinical Psychologist
When you know something needs to change…
Mindfulness practice helps train the mind to focus on being present in the moment. While so much emotional distress drives one to dwell in the past or worry about the future, mindfulness cultivates living in the present.
Supervision and case consultation are crucial in the professional development of early career psychologists. Case consultations are conducted on an as-need basis, while supervision is provided more regularly.
A Few Words...
From Nellie
You know something needs to change in your life. Maybe you’ve always felt this way and wondered if your life could be different. Maybe friends or loved ones have commented that you don’t seem quite yourself. Either way, you’re feeling distressed and are ready to do something about it.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience working with a range of mental health issues and emotional disorders. My work with clients is based on a fundamental belief that they CAN change and improve their quality of life. I work collaboratively to help clients clarify their own therapeutic and life goals, and we quickly get to work pursuing them.
I work with adults, primarily using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for a range of problems. CBT is an evidence-based and highly effective form of therapy that is goal-directed and often time-limited. Working together, we would examine how your thinking may contribute to your distress and help you CHANGE unhealthy thinking patterns and unwanted behaviors. At the same time, we acknowledge real life challenges you may be experiencing, and work on more effectively coping with and managing them. Each client has his or her own individualized treatment plan that we collaboratively agree to work on.

One of the key components of effective change is a strong therapeutic working relationship. Clients have noted that my empathetic style, therapeutic flexibility, and firm belief that they can better their lives has helped them to make changes that have otherwise seemed too difficult. My openness to communication and feedback about the therapy process ensure that clients’ perspectives of treatment and progress toward goals are always being considered.
Please take the opportunity to browse my website for more information about myself and my practices in midtown Manhattan and Park Slope, Brooklyn. I welcome emails and phone calls with questions about my services or for a brief phone consultation.
